What we do
Apr 12, 2021
This Easter holidays, we were a partner in the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
HAF is an initiative developed and funded by the Department for Education and delivered in partnership with Stockport Council allowing funded places for eligible families during the Easter school holidays.
The children who received free places also received a healthy dinner supplied by Redfearns of Castle Street, Edgeley.
The course aim is to give the children access to fun active activities, and learn about leading a healthy lifestyle. The days included some class based learning in their own individual Healthy Eating Booklet. These booklets help teach the importance of a balanced diet and hydration. They also included some fantastic receipes to try at home.
The courses at Ladybridge, Dial Park and Lark Hill Primary Schools allowed us to engage with around 100 children over the 2 week holiday. We received some fantastic feedback from both the children and parents
With news that HAF funding is planned for the summer it will mean we can help keep more children healthy and active.
We are delighted to have compiled a video of the 2 weeks activities for you to watch and hear some of the feedback from the children themselves.
